The Rachel Mini

The Rachel Mini is a pleated satin Fortuny jersey crewneck dress with slight bell sleeves, grosgrain ballerina ties, and raw edges on sleeves and hem. Mariano Fortuny created immaculate hand-pleated silk gowns for the modern women of the 1920s. His designs rejected the severe corsetry of the previous decades and revealed the sensual form of a woman's body. The fabric selected for this piece is a modern interpretation of that pleating technique.
