Parsons Senior Thesis

Parsons School of Design, BFA in Fashion Design.

Aug 2007 - May 2011

While stationed at a copy machine during my summer internship at Calvin Klein in 2010, I was struck by the realization that we were essentially replicating styles from magazine archives to integrate them into new collections. This sparked contemplation on the roots of inspiration for fashion collections and the cyclic nature of the industry, perpetually duplicating trends, colors, and silhouettes. This insight led me to envision garments themselves passing through a copy machine, where dwindling ink levels create texture and blur the seamlines. This concept became the foundation for my senior thesis at Parsons School of Design, earning me the esteemed title of Designer of the Year for Womenswear in my graduating class of 2011.
