Where the Waves Meet the Coast

Project

Spring 2022

Drawing inspiration from my roots in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania, I aimed to establish a connection between the renowned portrayal of the region by the Wyeth family of painters and my own recollections. In my case, my mother's family owned a cottage on an island off the coast of Maine. Much like the Wyeth family, my summers unfolded against a backdrop of coastal vistas—waves crashing onto a rugged shoreline, the air carrying the fragrance of pine needles and sunscreen. This collection serves as a tribute to the joyous celebration of those cherished memories.
